1. Originality and author responsibility
The Author/Publisher is fully responsible for the published content, including text, cover, images, metadata, digital files, descriptions, categories and commercial information. Submitted material must be original, licensed, or used with valid authorization.
- Publishing plagiarized, copied or fraudulent content, or content presented as your own without authorization, is not permitted.
- Using names, brands, images, characters, translations or works of third parties without the legal right to do so is not permitted.
- The Author/Publisher must keep proof of authorship, license or authorization whenever necessary.
2. AI-generated content
The platform may reject or remove content generated entirely by artificial intelligence when there is no real authorial input, editorial curation, consistent human review, original value, or enough quality for commercial publication.
Using AI tools to support editing, proofreading, organization or assisted creation does not relieve the Author/Publisher of responsibility for the quality, originality, accuracy and legality of the final material.
3. Public domain and reuse of works
Public-domain works, classic texts, compilations, old translations, free documents or widely available materials may be rejected when published without meaningful editorial contribution.
To be accepted, such materials must offer clear added value, such as an original translation, notes, a critical study, authorial organization, commentary, a scholarly edition, a substantial introduction or distinctive editorial treatment.
4. Minimum quality
Booklas may reject materials of low technical, editorial or commercial quality. This includes, among other cases:
- texts with excessive errors in grammar, formatting or coherence;
- corrupted, incomplete, illegible or poorly formatted files;
- improvised, misleading or illegible covers, or covers that fail minimum presentation standards;
- books with repetitive, empty or artificially inflated content, or without clear usefulness to the reader;
- misleading metadata, abusive categories, or descriptions that promise something different from the actual content.
5. Prohibited or sensitive content
Materials that break the law, encourage fraud, promote real harm, contain hate speech, undue exploitation, misleading content, defamation, invasion of privacy, or any practice incompatible with the platform’s editorial policy will not be accepted.
Booklas may create, update or detail category-specific guidelines as the store and its legal, commercial or operational requirements evolve.
6. Removal, suspension and the Author/Publisher account
When a violation of the guidelines is found, Booklas may take measures proportionate to the case, including requesting a correction, temporarily withdrawing the book, permanently deleting the content, suspending the account or ending the Author/Publisher’s access.
In cases of serious violation, repeat offenses, fraud, illegal content, significant complaints or risk to the platform, removal may occur without prior notice.
7. Royalties, chargebacks and pending amounts
The Author/Publisher acknowledges that accumulated amounts may be adjusted, blocked or withheld when a return, chargeback, payment dispute, customer refund, rights violation, fraud, operational loss or breach of the guidelines requires it.
Deleting content or closing an account for breaking the rules may result in the total or partial loss of pending royalties, especially when those amounts are tied to disputed sales, returns, losses or irregular publications.
8. Acceptance
By clicking “OK”, “I Agree”, “Register Now” or an equivalent button when registering as an Author/Publisher, the user confirms their agreement with these guidelines and authorizes the platform to apply the measures needed to protect readers, authors, publishers, payment providers and Booklas’ own operations.
